NAPLAN preparation at Enriching Young Minds
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.
NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling and numeracy. The examinations are undertaken nationwide, every year, in the second full week of May.
NAPLAN is made up of tests in the four areas of:
• reading
• writing
• language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
• numeracy
NAPLAN tests skills in literacy and numeracy that are developed over time through the school curriculum.
It is widely accepted that NAPLAN cannot be “taught’ and that students cannot study towards such assessments. However, here at Enriching Young Minds, we have designed a tutorial package which will prepare our students for the examination conditions of NAPLAN. The package will demonstrate how to accurately decode & deconstruct the different types of examination questions they will be required to complete.
Ultimately, it is preparing your child to understand what is being asked of them, therefore, allowing them to answer with confidence & to the best of their ability.
